West Pomerania
West Pomerania is a picturesque region in north-west Poland that attracts visitors from all over the world with its rich history, breathtaking scenery and welcoming atmosphere. The capital Szczecin impresses with the castle of the Pomeranian dukes and the imposing Chrobry Embankment. To the north of Szczecin, the Oder widens out into the Szczecin Lagoon. It covers an area of 800 square kilometres and extends to the Baltic Sea on both sides of the German-Polish border.
Nature lovers and sports enthusiasts will be particularly interested in the wide beaches, seaside resorts, golf courses and diverse outdoor activities. The West Pomeranian Sailing Route and numerous lakes offer a wide variety of water sports. West Pomerania's rich cultural heritage, including open-air museums such as the Slavic and Viking village and the traces of the Duchy of Pomerania, are an absolute travel highlight. Visitors can find peace and relaxation in the Wolin and Drawa National Parks.
