Mecklenburg-West Pomerania

Mecklenburg-West Pomerania is located in north-eastern Germany and borders Poland’s Western Pomerania Voivodeship to the east. The largely rural federal state is primarily known and loved for its nearly 2,000 kilometers of Baltic Sea coastline. It also is home to Germany's largest islands, Rügen and Usedom. The port of Rostock- Warnemünde is a destination for international cruise ships.

The state also hosts Europe's largest lake region for water sports. With over 1,000 natural lakes, with Müritz its largest, it is a popular holiday destination. In addition to its diverse landscapes and nature reserves, its UNESCO World Heritage historic Hanseatic towns of Stralsund and Wismar are also regional highlights.
